Yes. All hides used in the manufacture of our products are either a by-product of the food industry or have been culled in accordance with Government sanctioned culling programs. By virtue of the nature of our business, Hugo Hides’s importation of products into the US are cleared by US Fish & Wildlife (in addition to US Customs) to ensure compliance with CITES which regulates trade in endangered species.

Rug images on our website are of the individual rug you are purchasing and no variation in color, markings or size should be expected.

When purchasing pillows, there are no variations in color, markings or size from the offerings within our Wildebeest Collection. For most customers, the minor marking variations within our Springbok Collection are expected and appreciated. Should you be interested in purchasing pillows offered within our Zebra or Cowhide Collections, feel free to email us to send you images of the pillow(s) before we ship them out to you. In most cases we will offer you 3 images to choose from.

On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being super soft to the touch, expect the following:

Springbok Collection. At a solid 10 Springbok fur is superbly soft to the touch. Springbok pillows are appropriate to use as bed throw pillows and our 12 skin Springbok throw will be a luxurious addition to your bed or couch. Some folks choose to use the throw as a grandiose picnic blanket.

Zebra Collection. At 7 Zebra fur is perhaps too prickly to use as bed throw pillows and is best used as seating throw pillows.

Wildebeest Collection. At 6 Wildebeest fur is best used as throw pillows for your desired seating arrangement.

Cowhide Collection. At 8 Cowhide fur is comfortable to the touch.

We ship all our products in corrugated shipping boxes sized to best fit each order. Each item is individually wrapped in 2 mil poly sheets to ensure protection against moisture before being placed in a shipping box. Pillows ship with inners included and rugs ship folded. In the unusual event that your pillow or rug does arrive damaged from shipping, please review our Damage Claims/Returns Policy. We ship to all 50 states in the USA. Our Shipping partners are USPS, FedEx & UPS and we offer free standard Ground shipping to the 48 states for all orders over 2 items (shipments to Alaska and Hawaii will require additional shipping fees. Orders fewer than 2 items ship for a flat rate of $9.50 to the 48 states. A signature is required to receive orders over $1,000, so please determine if you would prefer to ship it to your home or workplace.

Our goal is for you, our valued customer, to be delighted with your Hugo Hides purchase. Should you wish to return a Hugo Hides product, for any reason, please contact us by email within 7 days of receipt of your order to arrange for return shipping. We will make a refund (less shipping charges and any credit card fees charged by your credit card company).

If you receive a Hugo Hides product that is damaged in any way you must make a damage claim with us. You must file your claim within 7 days after receiving your order. To file a claim, please take a good digital photo of the damage along with a picture of the shipping box and a clear written explanation. We handle all claims via email as we must see your images to evaluate the best way to handle the claim. Once the written claim is received (along with images), we will respond within 2 business days. Please Note: very minor imperfections such as a tiny scratch or scuff may be present. Each product is thoroughly inspected first upon receipt by Hugo Hides and again before being shipped to customers. Our goal is to provide the very best quality and although the product has passed our quality assurance, if it does not meet with your expectation, you may return the item in accordance with our return policy.
